Janus Center office
We are a clinical research office conducting FDA-regulated medication trials for psychiatric and related disorders. These medications may be new compounds that are not available on the market, but appear to be promising or better in some way or they may be already available, but need approval for a new dose or age group. Their safety and effectiveness are determined by testing in people recruited from the community who agree to participate in a trial and who have the disorder for which the medication is intended. Owner and Principal Investigator, Janice L. Miller, MD, CPI is Board-Certified in Psychiatry with 10 years experience conducting clinical research and over 20 years practicing psychiatry in Palm Beach County.

What is clinical research?
• Studying the effects of a potential new medication by asking volunteers to be in a study.
• Checking for changes to see if the new medication works better and is safe enough to be put on the market.
• Sometimes trying a medicine already on the market in another age, dose or disorder.
• Collecting the data from all the study centers in the U.S. to see if the new medication helped and was safe.

Why try clinical research?
• To try study medications that may be the next “cutting-edge” treatment for your disorder.
• Get a diagnosis for your condition by a psychiatrist at no cost and without needing insurance.
• Get an appointment quickly when you are in need.
• Help national medical research efforts in discovering new medications for others with the same condition.

What can I expect during the study?
• To be respected and asked for your input.
• You are seen by the doctor at every visit to talk about your symptoms and watched carefully for safety.
• Other treatment cannot be done during the study, but at the end we will help you find it.
