WHAT IS JANUS CENTER FOR PSYCHIATRIC RESEARCH? We are a clinical research office conducting FDA-regulated medication trials for psychiatric and related disorders. These medications may be new compounds that are not available on the market but appear to be promising or better in some way or they may be already available but need approval for a new dose or age group. Their safety and effectiveness are determined by testing in people recruited from the community who agree to participate in a trial and who have the disorder for which the medication is intended. OUR STAFF Owner and Principal Investigator, Janice Miller, MD, is Board-Certified in Psychiatry with 8 years experience conducting clinical research and over 20 years practicing psychiatry in Palm Beach County. Sub-Investigator Madeleine Stam, MD , also Board-Certified in Psychiatry, has worked in clinical research for 4 years and spent 11 years before that practicing psychiatry and training medical students and psychiatrists-in-training in New York City. Carol Brown is the Regulatory Specialist with 12 years experience creating, overseeing and managing all aspects of documentation, filings, notifications and record retention required by the FDA and others within the industry for clinical research. Bob Chaney, BS is a Clinical Research Coordinator with over 10 years experience in clinical research working with adults and children. He has exceptional expertise in psychopharmacology and coordinating child and adolescent psychiatric studies. Janette Groth, RN, BSN is Site Director and has 12 years research experience, 8 years with the USDA and the past 4 years with the Janus Center. Her expertise is leadership in managing clinical operations, clinical research methodology, study recruitment, advertising, budgeting, and sponsor and patient relationships. Christina Orf, MA is a Clinical Research Coordinator with 3 years experience in clinical research with the Janus Center and 3 years prior experience performing evaluations and conducting therapy with clinical and forensic populations. Her expertise is in psychological evaluation and assessment and patient recruitment for study participation. Sara Stark, MEd is a Clinical Research Coordinator with 4 years experience in clinical research working with adults and children. Her expertise is in patient relationships and patient recruitment and assessment for study participation. |
